Joy Butch studied Anthropology, Biology and English at the University of Akron and graduated in 2010. She has spent the past 13 years working in the non-profit sector, primarily in animal welfare.
Joy has extensive experience in community outreach, non-profit management and relationship building. Though she was working in animal welfare, her focus was on creating and expanding programs dedicated to resource accessibility and community education. She has a passion for helping people within her community and made a career shift to adult education in the fall of 2023.
When she isn't working, Joy loves spending time with her rescue animals, cooking delicious vegan food, and volunteering. She is on the board of directors at a local farm animal sanctuary and continuously fosters animals for other local rescue groups.
